Leather is one of the ancient products used by the mankind for different purpose. In early ages, man used leathers for their clothing and for protecting their body. Later the usability of the leather expanded, from the shoes to the handbags and wallets; leathers became the part of lives. Leather is generally made by the skin of dead animals and later processed to attain the usable and fine leather from the crude ones. The processing of the leathers require a lot of skill and delicacy and that is why leather carving is carried out by very few. However the fine leathers can not be extracted without the leather chemical.
Leather chemical are the complex chemical compounds used to process and reframe the surface and the quality of the raw leather. The need of the leather chemical is vital as the raw leather is not appropriate for the direct use in the products. Henceforth, leather chemicals are required and that serves many purposes:
Sulfonated oil: - the different kinds of Sulfonated oils are used to shine and upgrade the usability of the leather skin. These oils are in synthetic and natural form and are generally liquid. The Sulfonated oil is capable of strengthening the quality and durability of the leather. Sulfonated oil is also used in smoothing the surface of the leather and lessens the surface.
Resins: - there are various sorts of resins used in the leather industry. The resins are required to make the crude leather strong and make it hold in water as well. That is why; water resistance is the assessment of the quality leather.
Dyes- there are several dyes used for the coloring and for making the leather shiny and glazy for the longer period of time.
Apart from above there are loads of other leather chemicals that are required for the manufacturing of quality leather. However the leather chemicals are easily available in the market and needs not any big investment to have the leather chemicals as they are price viable as well.
